Circularly polarized periodic gravitational wave and the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator

Abstract:The “Bargmann framework” allows us to prove the equivalence of the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator with a spin-zero particle in a circularly polarized periodic gravitational wave. Pushing forward the symmetries (which include Carroll symmetry) of the latter, we derive conserved charges for the Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator.
